The company "Gazpromneft" announced that the decision to include its assets on US sanctions list unfounded and illegitimate and added that it will continue its work, because it has been preparing for possible restrictions in the last two years.
"In the last two years, Gazpromneft has been preparing for various negative scenarios with sanctions." In addition, the company has already been under unilateral foreign sanctions since 2022, which is why many similar restrictions have already been taken into account in the operational processes, according to the announcement," reports Sputnik.
The company "Gazpromneft" emphasized that thanks to the implementation of technological sovereignty projects, it ensures the stability of operational processes and production chains, the reliability of supply to the market and its consumers.
"At the same time, we believe that the decision to include our property on the sanction list is unfounded, illegitimate and contrary to the principles of free competition," it was stated.
On Friday, the US Ministry of Finance introduced new sanctions on Russia, a significant part of which refers to "Gazpromneft", so the company's director Alexander Dyukov, a number of key oil production companies, as well as refineries in Moscow and Omsk were on the "black list".
The company "Gazpromneft Marine Bunker" and 10 ships connected to it are also on the list, and sanctions were also introduced against the subsidiaries of "Gazprom" abroad - the Russian-Serbian company NIS and subsidiaries in Tajikistan, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
