The reaction of Brussels followed after the Share Foundation (SHARE) announced on September 2 that since the beginning of 2026, at least 14 people in Serbia were targeted by advanced spyware.
The organization states that this is the largest wave of such surveillance documented so far in the country.
Among the targets, according to the SHARE organization, were members of the student movement, activists, one member of parliament and one local councilor from the opposition parties. The period in which the cases were registered coincides with the local elections held on March 29.
