Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Monday condemned the violence of Serbian paramilitary forces in the north of Kosovo and the fact that Belgrade is turning them into heroes, calling for measures by the European Union and the West against Serbia, Croatian Radio Television reported.
Rama, who is on an official visit to Zagreb, said that the aggression of paramilitary forces is as worrying as Belgrade's reaction.
"We have a crime, killing a police officer, and making heroes of those who committed it," said Rama, stressing that this must not be acceptable in Europe, which cultivates opposite values.
Plenković emphasized that those moves cannot go unanswered and that Belgrade's decision on the day of mourning almost implies identification with what happened.
He emphasized that an investigation will follow in order to fully determine what happened, after which the EU's special envoy for dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade will propose measures. Plenković emphasized that he is sure that the measures will be adopted, and Rama called for them to be implemented without wasting time, because Belgrade's decision on the day of mourning leaves no room for different interpretations.
