Long-time director of Srbijagas Dusan Bajatovic he became honorary consul for Vojvodina at the end of September, and the position was assigned to him by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Russian Federation.
"By order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia No. 20061 dated September 9, 2025, Dušan Bajatović, a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, was appointed for a five-year term as the honorary consul of the Russian Federation in the city of Novi Sad (Republic of Serbia), with the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina as his consular district," according to the announcement on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
From Srbijagas to the consulate
Back in 2008, the Government of the Republic of Serbia appointed Bajatović as the general director of the Public Enterprise Srbijagas.
In 2010, he signed with Russian partners the foundation contract of the joint Serbian-Russian company for the underground gas storage Banatski Dvor.
Also, Bajatović is a member of the Working Group for Monitoring the US Sanctions on the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS). The goal of this group, as announced, is to come up with "the best solutions in the interest of the Republic of Serbia".
And, the new deadline for the entry into force of American sanctions on the Serbian oil industry has been moved to October 8.
