New economy: Russians offer Serbia nukes
Russia is ready to offer a complete range of solutions: from low-power nuclear power plants to high-power power blocks
In the previous days, an account with the name Đura Matsuta appeared on social networks. The order is fake, the Government announced, because the new Prime Minister of Serbia does not have one. Is that to be praised or condemned, given his political function
The days behind us were marked by a blockade Radio and Television of Serbia, religious holiday Easter and welcome new followers of the prime minister's profile Djura Macuta.
The Government of Serbia later announced that the Prime Minister had no orders to social networksand that those who appeared are fake.
It was stated that the Government "reported this illegal use of the prime minister's name and surname to the competent state authorities".
Whether the prime minister will open accounts that are not fake is currently unknown, and digital consultant Dragan Varagić says that whatever the decision is, it can have both good and bad sides.
Why do politicians need social networks?
Numerous world and domestic politicians, from the president of the USA Donald Trump to the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić they use social networks to spread information that is later often picked up by the media and through which they directly address voters.
Trump went a step further and developed his own social network, Truth Social.
Politicians have long understood the power of social networks, that through them they can communicate with the public in the fastest and most direct way.
However, digital consultant Dragan Varagić tells "Vreme" that it is better not to use them, than to use them incorrectly.
"Everything depends on the angle of observation. If someone is in the position of prime minister and should formally represent the most important person in this society, he is certainly followed by all the media, so he has other channels of communication, so his messages will be conveyed to the audience in one way or another. There is no need to bother with that," explains Varagić.
On the other hand, the use of social networks can allow him to spread messages as he wants, as for example Vučić does, but he needs certain knowledge and experience for that.
"My assessment is that he (Macut) simply does not know how to do it properly, and he will not leave it to someone else, and that his assessment is that it is better not to do it, which is basically smart", says the interlocutor of "Vremen".
He adds that Prime Minister Macut has probably never actively used social media before, "and now he is in too important a position to play with it."
"Thirdly, maybe he doesn't want to let someone handle orders on his behalf," says Varagić.
The first and basic rule of social networks is - "you have to learn how to use them, don't use them if you don't know".
"In order to learn, you need time. He doesn't have time to deal with it, because he already holds an important position. I would advise him the same. It is possible that someone in the party advised him not to do it, although maybe he wanted to," says Varagić.
Addressing the target audience
And while in the current political situation and students they use social networks as the main channels of communication, the prime minister stays out of the digital world, at least for now.
The question arises, how will the Prime Minister then understand the demands of the students and their steps?
When a political party seriously uses any communication system, including social networks, it does not address political opponents, "they are basically not interested in it", explains Varagić.
"For political parties, the main target group is their fans, the ardent supporters of the party. The next target group is those who are members of the party. The next target group is sympathizers and those who could become sympathizers. These are the main target groups that the party addresses. They do not address political opponents at all at any level."
On the other hand, social networks can often give a wrong picture of reality.
"Social networks are not everything. It has been shown more than once that doing something on social networks will not give good results, because most people watch television," says Varagić.
Student walks versus social networks
In order to spread information about what they are doing, in addition to social networks, students also use their own voices and feet. That's right walked Serbia, drove bicycles around the country and Europe.
"What the other political opponents of Aleksandar Vučić, apart from the students, do not understand is that Serbia is not Belgrade. That is why the students went around Serbia, so the president followed them to some places to react. They (students) think at the level of all those parts of the country, unlike numerous other politicians," concludes Varagić.

The High Court in Belgrade sentenced Ivan Stanišić to an eight-month suspended sentence for violent behavior at a public meeting in front of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, held in memory of the victims of the accident at the train station in Novi Sad. The verdict was based on a plea agreement.
Marija Vasić, professor of sociology at the Jovin High School in Novi Sad, who went on a hunger and thirst strike after two months of detention, was transferred to the prison hospital. Her husband and her godmother talk to "Vreme" about Maria, their worries and what they are going through
The owner of the company "Eagle Hills", an investor in Belgrade on the water, stated that he made mistakes during the construction of that project. "We pay the state (Serbia) 200.000 euros a day, it is ridiculous to estimate that we pay six million euros a year," said Mohamed Alabar.
