Serb JA was banned from returning to Kosovo for five years, Koss's lawyer Miloš Nikolić confirmed
JA is the sixth member of the MUP who was deported from Kosova with the imposed five-year ban on returning to the territory of the southern Serbian province, his lawyer Miloš Nikolić confirmed for KoSSev.
"The same as with the previous cases. He was in Pristina, and now he is." deported by order of the Migration Administration," said Nikolić.
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija states that JA was detained on Wednesday (June 18) at the Končulj crossing, and then transferred to the deportation center.
They further explain that the arrested policeman is from Kosovska Kamenica, i.e. from the town of Strelica, and that he is employed at the police department in Vranje, where he has been traveling to work without interruption for years.
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija condemned the new arrest of Serbian police officers, stating that, like the previous arrests, it was an "illegal and politically motivated persecution of Serbs".
The Kosovo authorities have so far confirmed the deportation of three people, while the KoSSev portal has not been able to confirm the arrest of a member of the MUP of Serbia today in the Kosovo Police.
Nikolić for KoSSev: Necessary appeal
Apart from JA Nikolić, he confirmed for KoSSev that he also represents another member of the MUP of Serbia, MZ, who was also deported from Kosovo. He has already filed a complaint about this move by the Pristina authorities.
He pointed out that "it is necessary to appeal the decision on forced deportation to the Commission within eight days, and then to initiate an administrative dispute before the court within 30 days."
Srpska lista also advertised
The Serbian list announced that "it is shameful and worrisome that there is no reaction from international missions and institutions - the EU, Quinta, UNMIK and KFOR - which, according to their mandates, should prevent this kind of behavior and protect basic human rights."
The Serbian civil society from Kosovo sent an open letter to local institutions and international organizations and pointed out the violation of human rights in these cases, as well as political interference in the manner of their implementation.
Justification of deportation
The Kosovo authorities justify arrests and expulsions with the Law on Citizenship, according to which residents of Kosovo who engage in activities that "threaten national security", or are members of the police force or intelligence service of "another country", and do not have the consent of the authorities or there is no international agreement for this - "lose the right to citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo".
When making the decision on deportation, the outgoing Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs, Dzheljalj Svečlja, referred to these allegations, writes KoSSev.
Previous arrests
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija previously announced that five more members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia were arrested at one of the crossings between central Serbia and the territory of Kosovo. One of them was retired and released in the meantime.
KoSSev previously wrote that the series of arrests of Serbian policemen from Kosovo followed the arrest of Arbnor Spahiju, a former member of the KLA and the Kosovo Special Police, in Serbia on June 7, suspected of serious murder in the "Banjska" case.
