"Vojvodina is an expression of European values, a community of all citizens living on the territory of the Autonomous Province, just as much as it is an inseparable part of the national, political, constitutional and cultural identity of modern Serbia", it was stated in the "People's Declaration on Vojvodina" which was published by the daily newspaper "Politika".
In the text of that declaration, announcing the gathering of the ruling party in Sremska Mitrovica February 15th, it was emphasized that "Vojvodina is not just a part of Serbia, Vojvodina is Serbia".
"Vojvodina is a name, and Serbia is a surname, just as Serbia does not exist without Vojvodina, so Vojvodina cannot exist outside of Serbia," it was pointed out in the text, which was announced by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić the day before in Banja Luka.
The declaration stated that "the most recent events in the northern Serbian province, the revival of separatist ideas and movements, the public advocacy of ideas about the Vojvodina nation, language and Orthodox Church, and the announcement of the adoption of some kind of 'Vojvodina platform' oblige us to protect the territorial integrity and wholeness of the Serbian state by active action in the social and political sphere".
Why is the Incompetent threatening the secession of "Northern Serbia"?
"To that end, starting from the Constitution of Serbia, which was adopted by the sovereign will of the citizens and whose principles proclaim that Serbia is the state of the Serbian people and all citizens who live in it, as well as that the territory of Serbia is unique and indivisible, we propose to the citizens of Serbia the declaration that "Vojvodina is Serbia", it says, among other things, in the Declaration on Vojvodina.
The declaration is divided into five sections, each of which underlines the extent to which Vovodina is Serbian, that is, an inalienable part of Serbia: 1. Historical development of Serbian Vojvodina; 2. Continuous attempts at nationalization and imposition of the idea of the so-called the Vojvodina nation; 3. Vojvodina's constitutional and legal position after the Second World War - from an autonomous province whose autonomy extends over a quasi-federal unit to a return to the constitutional framework of standard political-territorial autonomy; 4. Stopping separatist aspirations and placing Vojvodina within the constitutional framework (2012-2014): 5. Vojvodina as a multicultural, multinational and multi-confessional community based on the equality of citizens.
Vučić said in Banja Luka that the text of the Declaration on Vojvodina will be adopted by "popular acclamation" at the SNS meeting in Sremska Mitrovica, and then, with an agreement with the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians, it will also be adopted in the National Assembly.
The president's transparent lies
The sudden fascination with Vojvodina, "Northern Serbia" as Vučić said, the fear-mongering of Lalin separatism, and the whole tour of the Serbian president through the province in the north of the country, come at a time when the popular uprising started by them and led by students is gaining momentum.
The top government and the regime media spread the thesis that some kind of Vojvodina secessionists supported from outside want to secede the province from Serbia and that they, these unknown separatists, are actually the organizers and financiers of the student protests.
Although none of the students and rebel citizens mentioned the status of Vojvodina.
Political analysts, those who are not guests on Pink and Informer, perceive this kind of tactic as a kind of crisis management and nationalist populism that is regularly used in Serbia to divert attention and suppress ranks.
"It is about an attempt to compromise and divide the student and civil struggle for justice with lies that are more than three and a half decades old, and with the old familiar discourse about the supposed secessionist enemy. For this purpose, to divide the general social movement, fake left-wing and extreme right-wing organizations are used, which introduce numerous doubts and misconceptions," said Radivoje Jovović, deputy of the Movement of Free Citizens in the Assembly of Vojvodina and university professor, for "Danas".
Vučić is scaring the people.
The President of the Freedom and Justice Party, Dragan Đilas, said that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić "lies that someone wants to secede Vojvodina from Serbia, continues to frighten the people and incite citizens against each other".
"There is no one in Serbia who is in favor of that. Only Vučić's business partner, political role model and great friend, Viktor Orban, has such ambitions, which he proves when he wears a scarf with Vojvodina as part of Hungary," said Đilas in a conversation with the citizens of Sombor.
The only danger for Serbia, he says, is Vučić's system and criminal regime, because of which everything in Serbia is falling apart.
"All the lies and empty stories cannot hide the bloody traces of corruption and save Vučić from the responsibility demanded by the people led by the students." "All decent people know that, but not Vučić, who is ready to burn everything, just to stay in power, like the mad Roman emperor Nero," said Đilas.
Fake news
Former Vice President of the Government of Vojvodina Goran Ješić said that any stories about the secession of the province, as well as speculations that the opposition is behind the student rebellion, are "classic fake news".
"He saw that people were afraid of separatism, so he invented that we are separatists." So, to repeat, classic 'fake news'. Students are alone from the beginning, and that's their business. So that is completely clear," said Ješić in an interview with the newspaper Danas.
Speaking about student protests, he emphasized that "children are fighting their own battle."
"We are here to protect their flanks and backs, to provide logistics, food, as, after all, the whole of Novi Sad does for its students." And, do we agree with them about protests and blockades - no. And we never did."
