The Crta observation mission submitted 11 criminal charges to basic and higher public prosecutors' offices and special anti-corruption departments against the president and members of the election committees, as well as some observers, due to suspicions that they were at several polling stations in the local elections in Zajecaru i To Kosjerić threatened the integrity of the election process.
The criminal offenses of abuse of official position, unauthorized influence on the work of election committees, violation of voting rights and falsification of election results are included in the reports, it was announced from Crta.
The Crta observation mission previously assessed that the election day in Kosjerić was neither free nor fair, and that in Zaječar the result did not reflect the will of the citizens, as severe irregularities were recorded in 19 percent of the polling stations.
As observers do not have the right to submit objections to election commissions, Crta filed nine criminal charges for violating electoral integrity at polling stations in Zaječar, and two were filed against Kosjerić.
Crta submitted a criminal complaint to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Zaječar against the president and members of the polling committee from one polling station, due to the well-founded suspicion that they committed the crime of falsifying voting results individually or in concert.
At that polling station, it was recorded that a voter who was not registered in the voter list was allowed to vote, and in addition, the election board did not register a discrepancy between the number of ballots and the signatures in the extract from the voter list, which is why there is a well-founded suspicion that there was an illegal change in the entry in the extract from the single voter list, Crta points out.
Crta filed four criminal reports for abuse of office against the president of the polling board with four more polling stations in Zaječar to the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Niš, due to the suspicion that they facilitated illegal actions and thus contributed to the violation of the legality of the election process.
Due to the illegal influence on the work of the polling boards and the disruption of the voting process at the aforementioned polling stations, Crta submitted four criminal charges to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Zaječar - against two representatives of the organization "Center for European Values", one from the "Institute for European Freedoms" and against unknown persons.
It is suspected that they committed the crime of violating the right to vote, because their behavior directly violated the integrity of the election process.
