Protests in Serbia

Brnabić on the Vidovdan protest: "Idiocy", "insolence", "ultimate attack on Serbia"...

Since Aleksandar Vučić publicly announced that he had defeated the "colored revolution", there is great fear in the government to what extent the Vidovdan protest called by the students could make it meaningless. That's why they go hard, with soles, insults and lies, the way they do best

Students in the blockade are organizing a new one on Saturday, June 28 protest in Belgrade. While the public draws parallels and questions whether it will be at least as big as that one March 15, which was the largest protest in the history of Serbia, representatives of the authorities and pro-regime media use every opportunity to present the peaceful student gatherings as some kind of foreign-financed attempt to take over the government.

President of the Assembly Ana Brnabic thus, in a post on X, she mentioned that the students in the blockade and those who support them threaten everyone in Serbia, while "Informer" writes that they have prepared "an infernal plan whose goal is to cause damage to the state of as much as one billion euros".

"The blockaders for Vidovdan are planning the ultimate attack on Serbia. In a 36-page document, woven of idiocy, insolence and arrogance, they announce June 28 as 'Decision Day', 'Truth Day' and 'the moment of turning point'. They literally threaten everyone in Serbia and all of Serbia - with roadblocks, infrastructure, investments and institutions," President Brnabić wrote on the X network.

She then "explained that the "blockaders" want life to stop in Serbia, "and they literally say 'not only citizens will be in fear', but they promise that foreign investors will also be in fear, 'governments and embassies that cooperate with this regime or are considering investments'.

Well, a little about terrorism and fascism

"I ask all those who support the blockaders - what is this called? Terrorism? They brag that citizens will live in fear of them! They brag that they will drive away all investors from Serbia, leave hundreds of thousands of people without jobs, hundreds of thousands of families without bread and security. They predict in that document that Serbia will lose 292 million euros in the first five days of their blockade, and that if this situation continues, the estimated loss of Serbia will reach over 800 million euros! That's 800 million They are bragging about the expulsion of embassies and diplomatic missions from Serbia. Once again, what is this called? Fascism scared", she stated Brnabić on the X.

And she told the citizens not to be afraid and not to worry.

"Serbia led by Aleksandar Vučić will never leave the homeland to those who want Serbian citizens to live in fear! Stop blockade violence and terror," Brnabić wrote.

"The Infernal Plan"

The same rhetoric is used by the editor-in-chief of Informer, Dragan J. Vučićević, who presented the aforementioned 36-page document on television.

"We have come up with a plan that reveals on 36 densely typed pages what the blockaders are preparing for Vidovdan," said Vučićević, adding that everything boils down to violence. He said that "on 36 sides, they only talk about violence. Their goal is to drive away foreign investors. They are preparing for conflicts with the police, they are preparing some veterans, some bikers, lawyers who will defend them..." and added that the plan of the blockaders consists in a complete blockade of Belgrade.

Vučićević also mentioned the blockade of foreign companies.

"They hope to cause damage of one billion euros," said Vučićević and added that the culmination of the plan is the blockade of the landfill in Vinča.

Permanent blockade of Gazelle?

Students in the blockade have announced a rally for June 28. Among the plans from the student plenums of the blockaded faculties in Belgrade for a large protest is the blockade of the highway at the Mostar interchange, i.e. Gazela, which would last until the fulfillment of the request for the calling of extraordinary parliamentary elections, the pro-regime NIN writes in its new issue, referring to sources among students.

According to NIN, on the other hand, the two largest faculties offered their colleagues a plan that implies a more extensive blockade of vital routes. Students of those faculties believe that only if the capital "stops", the government can be forced to really act and fulfill the demands.

Everything would supposedly start from Kralj Milan, followed by Autokomanda and Brankov's Bridge, then Vuk's Monument, then the Ada Bridge and Gazela. It is also planned to block the road leading to the Vinča landfill. The students emphasize that the radicalization of the blockades refers only to the hubs that need to be occupied, so there are also ideas for setting up barriers made of poured concrete.

The non-violent character of the protest is strongly contradicted.

The main demand is elections.

The request to call elections will be the main message of the announced student protest for June 28, announced students Veljko Aleksić from the Belgrade Faculty of Political Sciences and Đorđe Petrović from the Faculty of Philosophy in Nis, reports Insider.

There will be no violence at the large student protest on June 28, because the students are not interested in violence, but in Serbia, representatives of the Blockade Students said in Vienna, and expressed their belief that the student list will win the parliamentary elections if they are called soon.

Luka Opruc, a second-year student at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Novi Sad, said that there would be no violence at the Vidovdan protest in Belgrade, which was called by the Blockade Students, because they are not interested in violence, but in Serbia, Beta reported.
