Speaker of the Parliament Ana Brnabic she stated that blockade of Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS) a criminal offense for which a fine or prison sentence is prescribed and assessed that the blockaders are "sadists who mistreat women".
The President of the Serbian Parliament, Ana Brnabić, stated tonight that the blockade of RTS is a criminal act, stressing that as the President of the Parliament, she is obliged to warn about it.
"Blocking RTS is a direct criminal offense in accordance with Article 149 of the Criminal Code, paragraph 2 - anyone who unauthorizedly prevents and interferes with the broadcasting of radio and television programs will be fined or imprisoned for up to one year," Brnabić said on TV Pink.
She stated that it is her duty as the President of the Assembly to warn about it and to say once again that she hopes that all competent institutions will do their job. "Freedom of the media in their Serbia like this, that beautiful, 'all-tooth' Serbia, will obviously not exist, if they ever gain power. There will be no freedom of thought, no speech, no media," said Brnabić.
As she pointed out, it is unbelievable that the blockers harass only women, from RTS journalist Nikolina Rakić, whose phone number was published on the networks so that people would harass her, through Jelena Baranin, who was made to cry, to Vesna Radosavljević, who, as she said, is also harassed in the most terrible way.
The President of the Assembly assessed that these are cowards who mistreat women in a pack. Brnabić repeated that the meaning of everything is what President Aleksandar Vučić said at the beginning of December, which is that the demands of the students in the blockade are just an excuse and that the meaning is politics and the coming to power of those who organized those blockades. She assessed that it is neither democratic nor the rule of law and that everything comes down to, as she stated, "primordial sadism".
"Now there are still people who enjoy harassing some people, hating and targeting, putting people on wanted lists," said Brnabić.
