The reorganization discussed in the conversation between Miller's Rock and Vladimir Lučić, by to which N1 and other media working within the United group should be excluded, "it just didn't come into force", says Igor Boži.
He stated that the response of the owner, namely BC Partners, reads on the media buyout offer - we will not sell the media to a third party for the time being.
"But that answer also states that they are planning to take certain measures in agreement with the regulators, in order to make our media even more independent. This is what arouses great concern for us, that is, it arouses suspicion, that we know that it is not actually that," says the program director of N1. "What we as journalists have managed to find out at this moment is that a reorganization is being planned, which we could hear about in that conversation between Sten Miller and Vladimir Lučić. Our findings support the fact that the media located in Serbia will be added to the Luxembourg company, but the idea is to add Montenegrin Vijesti to that group of media in order to create the so-called news division of United Group media."
As he assesses, this is a very strange selection of media because it is about media that critically report on the authorities, both in Serbia and in Montenegro.
N1 as a third party
Commenting on BC Partners' response that it would not sell the media to a third party, he says "N1 is not a third party."
"We are the people who created this media, who built this company from scratch, who produce the program and all that you can watch. I think people are the most important thing. The media is worth as much as the people who produce that program, who receive awards in the European Union. Journalist associations throughout Europe recognize our work as something that is very respectable, objective, independent and professional. We also receive awards in the country. It is not clear to us what it is about when someone says 'we want to further establish your independence,'" he says.
