The election conditions have not improved, said today the deputy president of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) Borko Stefanović, but that the SSP does not call for a boycott of the elections and "will never say a single ugly word" to colleagues from the opposition who decided to vote on the 2nd. June, because "everyone wants the same thing" and "they differ in tactics, but not in strategy".
"In that sense, their participation in the elections does not mean that they are working for (Aleksander) Vučić, they may not want that, but legitimacy is given to false, pre-stolen elections and, unfortunately, support is given to the extension of this government." "If we had remained consistent in our demands, and Vučić was already on the ropes, he would have had to fulfill things by the end of autumn," Stefanović said in a guest appearance on TV Nova S, SSP announced.
The SSP, as he stated, does not call people to boycott, because it is "impossible and abnormal in this situation", but what he is telling citizens is to think about whether these are really elections, and answers:
"They didn't. Have any of the recommendations and demands of the opposition been met? Zero, nothing fulfilled. Do we have an iota better election conditions? We don't have any".
According to his words, "cosmetic changes that are being prepared" are only for "Jovanov, Orlić, Aleksandar Vučić, Ana Brnabić to say - we fulfilled everything for you, you accepted these conditions, they were perfect, you went to the elections, you voted for some a way to legitimize election theft - that's what the progressives will say".
On the occasion of tomorrow's session of the Assembly of Serbia, where there is also an agenda item on amendments and additions to legal provisions regarding the change of residence, Stefanović said that there are two huge problems.
"First of all, this amendment to the law, even the calendar is mentioned in the text, refers only to this election, which means that all the following ones are not important, and the second thing - what will we do with the tens of thousands of people who were illegally added to the voter's list since 2018 . This can only be solved by taking the electoral roll to see who changed their residence from 2018 to today and then to check where these people live, where they receive their salary. Well, in a few months, we would completely clean the voter's list," said Stefanović.
The goal of the SSP is "to topple and demolish this corrupt regime, not to play exhibition games", said Stefanović and assessed that the next elections will be much faster.
"Since I hear that people say that there will be no elections for the next four years, it is an illusion like an illusion and that this Government will do anything smart and good in Serbia with these personnel and the wrong policy," said Borko Stefanović.
