Professor at the University of Novi Sad Bojan Pajtic he rated yes opposition parties that announce going to the elections in three separate columns will not succeed in passing the electoral census.
"No one will pass the census because many more people will come out than the research tells us and because, unfortunately, an atmosphere of political war is being created," Pajtic told the FoNet agency.
He pointed out that he expects a higher turnout than currently shown by public opinion surveys, but also that an atmosphere of political conflict is being created that could further affect the election result.
He believes that, if Freedom and Justice Party i People's Movement of Serbia still decide to participate in the elections, their members and local committees should put pressure on the party leadership to reach an agreement on a common list.
The Academic Plenum supported the Student List
According to his assessment, "currently, the strongest opposition list is at around four to five percent of support", which would mean that it could also remain below the census.
Pajtić sees the joint performance of all opposition parties as the best solution, but with the condition that their leaders are not on the electoral list. Such a move, in his opinion, could increase the confidence of citizens, because it would show that the parties are not fighting exclusively for parliamentary seats and positions, but that their goal is to achieve the wider public interest.
However, the professor estimates that a scenario in which the opposition would support would have an even stronger effect student list.

Irresponsible performance of the opposition in several columns
He believes that in the current circumstances it is completely irresponsible for the opposition parties to perform in multiple columns, especially considering the mass of student protests and incidents in which, as he stated, demonstrators were injured.
Pajtić expects that the government may experience an unpleasant surprise in the elections and believes that the difference between the government and the opposition could be greater than currently assumed. As the only potential obstacle to such a result, he sees precisely the possibility of the opposition appearing with several lists.
Therefore, according to his opinion, the unification is no longer a matter of good will of the opposition parties, but rather their political obligation, because the waste of votes could leave another mandate to Aleksandar Vučić.
He also assessed that a political atmosphere has been created in which a part of the citizens who would have previously voted for the opposition parties could opt for the student list, which he sees as the biggest and strongest alternative to the government.
At the same time, if the Socialist Party of Serbia would go to the elections independently, a part of its voters could, Pajtić believes, join the Serbian Progressive Party under the conditions of a kind of referendum-set voting.
