The faculties will decide on the potential candidates in the next few days blockades, say "Vremena" sources.
One of the candidates in the future student electoral list, academician and professor of the Faculty of Chemistry in Belgrade, Radomir Saičić, said that he does not think that blocking the faculty is necessary at the moment, but that the situation is changing and that new circumstances need to be responded to.
"Now, blockades in the context that existed then, I don't see that they are necessary. But the situation is changing, the pressures of the authorities and various events in real time bring new situations that need to be reacted to. Will they react and how? I remind you, this is a student movement, now a student-people's movement, not a professor's movement, so it is not up to me to determine what will happen and how it will happen," said Saičić regarding the statement by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, that he knows that blockades are being prepared again faculty.
He added that the political articulation of this protest is already getting its outlines, very concrete and clear, so decisions will be made that way. Saičić is one of the 14 signatories of the citizens' group "Student list - Students are winning".
Saičić added that he would not speak about it on behalf of the students, and if they call for something like that, with a specific goal, reason and explanation, it will "certainly be seriously considered".
The final list
Saičić said that he does not know when the final student list will be published, because it depends on the students, but that he believes that at this moment it is not the most important thing to publish all the names.
"The student movement, in its basic concept, does not depend on an individual, on this or that personality. At the same time, it is not unimportant who is there. The students chose people for a long time, the selection process lasted and they tried to choose the best ones," said Saičić.
According to him, the criteria for the selection of candidates were that they have no stain in their professional, political or other careers, that they are accomplished and capable in their professions, stand in solidarity with students during protests, moral and ready to make personal sacrifices, not to make a profit.
He added that the political articulation of the student protest is now getting "very concrete and clear outlines" through the formation of a group of citizens and preparations for the elections.
