An informal group of students from Nis will organize a large protest "Elect(we)se" on Saturday, not far from the place where the three-day All-People's Assembly of Aleksandar Vučić will begin on Friday.
Niška An informal group of students announced that on Saturday (May 17) at 18.30:XNUMX p.m., they will organize a large student protest "Elect(we)se", not far from the place where the three-day National Assembly organized by the authorities will begin on Friday. The highlight of the progressive rally, also on Saturday, will be the address of the President of Serbia at Trg Kralja Milana Aleksandar Vučić.
"We invite all citizens to approach the protest calmly, with dignity and with positive energy. This is the day when our dissatisfaction will be heard better and more clearly than ever! Our goal is a strong message, not chaos - we demand the calling of extraordinary parliamentary elections! Let's show that Niš is a city of freedom, love and courage," stated the call of the Informal Group of Students in Niš.
According to the plan, the students will organize a reception for the ultramarathoner from the University of Niš Alekse Radonjić, but also for other students who went to Brussels.
However, although the central protest has been announced for 18.30:XNUMX p.m., the gatherings of students and citizens will begin earlier. The plan is for people to gather at six different locations in the city, from where they will head to Trg kralja Aleksandra. A close encounter with the progressives who will be brought to Niš en masse from all parts of Serbia will be inevitable.
Students and citizens who are not at all happy that the President of Serbia is organizing a three-day fair in Niš, similar to the one in Belgrade, will gather in Saint Sava Park at the clock and at Nitex at 15 p.m., and at the Basic Court, the Court of Appeal, the Palilul ramp and the Technical Faculties at 16.30:XNUMX p.m.
It is also planned that the gathering will be provided by war veterans and bikers, which will create a buffer zone between the two squares, that is, the two gatherings.
What is Vučić planning?
At the same time as the large student protest "Elect(mo)se" will be held in Niš, the All-People's Assembly, organized by the government, will be held in Niš, which will begin on Friday and should last for three days.
The central event of that gathering will be on Trg Kralja Milana on Saturday and will start at 18 p.m., and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, is expected to address the gathering.
It is still unofficial, but apparently, at the same time when Vučić gives a speech at the student meeting, 16 minutes of silence will be held for the victims of the canopy fall.
Vučić invited the citizens to come to the "magnificent" meeting with the promise that some members of the Movement for the People and the State will be represented at it.
"I invite all people to come on May 17 to hear a different program. They will hear many of their fellow citizens, who are entering politics for the first time, that Niš will be a city of progress, new factories, new plants, new science and technology parks and that it will progress much faster than in the past," said Vučić.
The president of the Socialist Party of Serbia and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivica Dačić, invited his supporters to that meeting, with the assessment that "political and state unity is necessary in Serbia at this moment".
The Serbian flag should also appear at Vučić's rally, which was presented at the recent "We will not give Serbia" rally in Belgrade as the largest in the country, due to its length of 200 meters and width of 10 meters.
Before Vučić, folk singer Aca Lukas should entertain the crowd gathered at Trg kralja Milana.
