The information that the Belgrade Pride is already scheduled for September 9 next year is not correct, Marko Mihailović, the director of the Belgrade Pride, tells the "Vremena" portal, and announces that he will tell about everything on Friday at a press conference.
The MUP meeting for next year was scheduled by someone who is not authorized to do so, Mihailović explained quietly, stressing that it was not an initiative of Belgrade Pride.
"We know who did it, someone who doesn't live in Serbia at all." "Pride will be next year in September, but when we schedule it," Mihailović said.
He notes that the information that the participants of the Europride walk from Albania were attacked is also wrong. Mihailović says that they are from Turkey, and that they were carrying a banner about Kosovo.
The MUP announced that on September 17, during the Europride march, 64 people were detained for disturbing public order and peace. According to Mihailović, except for the excommunicated priest Antoni, all the others were immediately released.
The MUP banned the walk as part of the recently held Europride, and the organizers appealed to the Constitutional Court. They are still waiting for the decision.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandar Vulin, announced that he will file criminal charges against some of the participants of the event, as well as that some will be banned from entering Serbia. He did not specifically say against whom the proceedings would be initiated.
Mihailović notes that the MUP did not react to the "shocking violence of individuals towards the participants of the march, as well as the incredible amount of hate speech during the whole week of Europride in Belgrade".
