The project Belgrade on water enters a new phase of development, which implies the expansion of the complex to To Adi Gypsy, including new residential blocks, public facilities and the reconstruction of the area of the former Belgrade Fair.
At the location of the current Fair, the construction of 18 new residential buildings is planned, as well as a 120-meter-high building, which the investors present as a future new visual symbol of the capital.
As Aleksandar Trifunović, deputy director of the "Belgrade on the Water" company, told RTS, the new part of the project is called "Marina" and is predominantly focused on housing, with additional facilities intended for residents and visitors.
Extension of the Sava promenade
Along with the new facilities, the extension of the Sava promenade is also planned. After the already built two-kilometer promenade from Branko Bridge to the Old Railway Bridge, the next stage should include another 2,4 kilometers to Ada Ciganlija.
"We will develop that part of the promenade in the same spirit, but with more green areas," said Trifunović.
A school, a kindergarten, as well as a marina with 110 berths are planned on the premises of the Belgrade Fair.
According to the announced plans, halls 1, 2 and 3 will be preserved. A new purpose has already been defined for Hall 1 of the Belgrade Fair - it will be reconstructed and turned into a multifunctional cultural space.
Three separate units are planned inside the hall: an opera house with a capacity of about 1.500 seats, a space for cabaret and a theater stage, while restaurants and cafes will be located on the roofs and between the spaces.
An architectural competition has been announced for halls 2 and 3, which should soon define their future function.
