Citizens and activists gather for a protest outside Palaces Albania, to which the students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine called, because they are behind the billboard "Serbia wins." captive chicks of the endangered species of white cheetah.
The protest started at 14 p.m., and Jelena Banjac from Kreni-promeni says that the plan is to stay in front of the Palace until the billboard is removed and they see that the birds are safe.
On Friday evening, the members of Kreni-permeni, together with the most persistent citizens, stayed in front of the Palace until three in the morning, but the authorities, as Banjac says, did not react.
"We saw one obstruction of the authorities, because several reports were filed last night... We filed a criminal report and regardless of whether this billboard will be removed or not, no one can be absolved from criminal responsibility. We also filed a report with the Ministry of Environmental Protection," Banjac points out, reports N1.

Friday night protest
In front of the Albania Palace in Belgrade on Friday, a protest was held organized by citizens and members of the Stari Grad Choir, who filed a criminal complaint because of a billboard with the inscription "Serbia wins".
Finance Minister Siniša Mali announced on TV Prva on Saturday that the billboard will be taken down, after citizens' assemblies and the Faculty of Biology requested it, because it prevents the birds - the white warbler - from approaching the chicks and feeding them in the nests.

"Today, the billboard will be removed, just so the craftsmen can gather. I don't know who put up that billboard, but it will be taken down," said Mali.
He pointed out that it is criticized by the people who destroyed thousands of facades, education.
"You who have destroyed the future of young people, thousands of facades, none of which you have fixed. Well, you are the ones who care about our billboards," he said, B 92 reported.
A self-organized group of students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine called for a protest on Saturday from 14 p.m. under the slogan, "Serbia is winning, but let them manage".
The municipal committee of the Serbian Progressive Party, Stari Grad, announced via Instagram that the removal of the billboards will begin at 19 p.m. and that the expert team of the Institute for Nature Conservation is taking care of the white-tailed eagle cubs.
"We are grateful for the quick reaction of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the expert team of the Institute for Nature Protection who are in the field and who are working on the care and feeding of the white-tailed eagle cubs. The transfer of the banner from the Palace of Albania will begin at 19 p.m., which will enable the further unhindered feeding of the white chicks," stated the announcement of SNS Stari grad.
The Minister of Environmental Protection, Sara Pavkov, stated on Instagram that the white-tailed eagle cubs are well and in the safe hands of experts, reports FoNet.
"The care and feeding campaign is underway," said Sara Pavkov.
According to her, the birds are being taken care of, and the banner closing the access to the nests will be moved to another location as soon as possible.
"This is another example of unity in action. I thank all well-intentioned citizens who contributed to the quick reaction of the competent institutions. And to all those who would use this situation for political profiteering, I say that the state has shown that it cares and acts in the interests of citizens and nature protection in every situation," she said.
Citizens called the fire department.
The problem was pointed out by the Society for the Protection and Study of Birds of Serbia, reports N1.
The citizens called the firefighters, who told them that they were not equipped to save the birds, while one citizen was told that "the police have come, you just don't see them," Snežana Radovanović from the Stari Grad Choir told N1.
Uroš Stojiljković from the Society for the Protection and Study of Birds of Serbia said that the billboard closed the access of the parents of the white-tailed eagles to their young.

"This is a strictly protected and endangered species, it has the category of vulnerable species, they nest here in the center of Belgrade, on tall buildings, in boxes made of blinds, they have their young there," said Stojiljković.
The billboard was put up a day and a half ago, and Stojiljković states that the species is protected by law from the moment the birds build a nest and lay eggs, which is why they have the right to complete their life cycle unhindered.

Students condemned the installation of billboards
Students in the blockade of higher education institutions in Belgrade strongly condemned the installation of billboards at the Palace of Albania.
"The installation of a large advertising canvas on the building of the Palace of Albania, where the nesting sites of these birds are located, represents another example of neglecting nature protection for the sake of other interests. Adults are currently unable to access their nests and take care of the young, which directly threatens the survival of the local population of this species," the students say.
They also point out that it is inadmissible for such activities to be carried out without assessing their impact on the living world and biodiversity, especially when it comes to strictly protected species and unique urban habitats.
"The fact that public space and natural assets are increasingly subordinated to the interests of political promotion, without responsibility towards nature and citizens, is of particular concern. We demand an immediate reaction from the competent institutions, the removal of the disputed cloth and the taking of concrete measures that will prevent further endangerment of the white turbans and similar cases in the future," the students point out.
