Member of the Main Board of the largest ruling party Social Media Siniša Vučinić, after announcing on Informer a few days ago the murder of the student P. C, has now published a message on social networks that spread hate speech and targets and insults protesting citizens, as well as journalists and the media, the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) announced on Tuesday (September 23).
In a post on Instagram, Vučinić stated that "the blockaders and the pro-NATO opposition are traitors to the Serbian people, potential murderers, Ustashas and terrorists who are strongly promoted and incited to evil by the terrorist and fascist media N1, TV Nova, Nova S, Danas, Vreme edited by the proven Ustasha and pedophile Filip Švarm, and the like".
ANEM reminds that Vučinić has already spread fake news with impunity, with mandatory hate speech and discredit, so 19 years ago he claimed that the murder of three activists from the non-governmental sector Nataša Kandić, Sonja Biserko and Biljana Kovačević Vučo was being prepared, and in 2009 Vučinić was arrested for threatening the death of "Vremen" journalist Miloš Vasić and the president of the Social Democratic Union Žarko Korac.
ANEM calls on the government to react
ANEM strongly condemns the spread of hate speech against citizens and journalists and warns that this kind of narrative and incitement to aggression further endangers the safety of those who are targeted in this way.
For years, the same media have been the target of targeting and negative campaigns by the highest representatives of the authorities in Serbia, pro-government tabloids, television and portals. This has especially intensified in the last few months, since civil protests have been ongoing, which led to a record number of threats, pressures and attacks on journalists and media workers in 2025, according to ANEM.
"ANEM has repeatedly reminded that the representatives of the government and the ruling party must be aware of the responsibility for every word spoken in public and appealed to stop targeting and negative campaigns against the media and dissidents, because such inflammatory statements can have dangerous consequences for the safety of those persons and their families. We call on all representatives of the government and the ruling party to publicly condemn and distance themselves from such statements by individuals that further contribute to the heated and negative atmosphere in society and the state," said Veran Matić, president Member of the ANEM Board of Directors and member of the Permanent Working Group for the Safety of Journalists.
