President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić he stated today that European Union (EU) will not open cluster 3 in negotiations with Serbia, adding that this is not a reason for despair and that it is good for Serbia to do its part on the European road.
Vučić, in a telephone interview for Informer television, reminded that he told Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić, Head of the Operational Team for Serbia's Accession to the EU Danijel Apostolović and relevant Minister Nemanja Starović to do everything necessary for the country to progress in the accession process, even though cluster 3 will not be opened.
"The effort is not in vain and it is good that we do our job, but I told them not to be disappointed and not to have a hard time when they realize that it will not happen," he pointed out.
"It is not a reason to despair, but a signal, and I understood the messages well," said Vučić, who claims that in the past days he was asked to make some decisions, to which he did not agree.
"If I had agreed to such things, they would have been like moving targets again, but luckily I didn't agree," he added, without specifying who and what asked for the European path to be pushed, as he mentioned.
Vučić stated that it is good that the strategic dialogue with the United States of America has started, but he noted that this process will not be easy and simple either.
He announced the continuation of cooperation with China and the opening of a robot factory on August 29 in Šabac.
Vučić also announced that this year, August 4, in memory of the victims of the Croatian military-police operation "Storm", will be jointly commemorated with the Republic of Srpska in Mrkonjić Grad.
