"Snežana herself is a victim of ethnic cleansing, but it must be crystal clear that our policy is peace and stability," said Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić he said on Wednesday that the statement of the Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government Snezana Paunovic it does not reflect his will and policy, nor the policy of the Government of Serbia, adding that that statement was "careless and insufficiently responsible".
"And now, about our shortcomings and our stupidity: if I were." Slobodan Milosevic, I would ethnically cleanse Kosovo '98. And this is the rudest qualification I have ever said in my life," said Paunović in an interview with TV Kurir.
Who is Snežana Paunović, the creator of the ethnic cleansing of Kosovo
"That statement does not reflect the will and policy of the President and the Government of Serbia. We have to be responsible, our policy is dialogue, compromise, talks, and never ethnic cleansing, period," Vučić told reporters in Kyiv.
"Snežana herself is a victim of ethnic cleansing, but it must be crystal clear that our policy is peace and stability," he repeated and added that such careless and irresponsible statements should not be made in public.
Vučić emphasized once again that this is neither his nor the Serbian government's policy.
He assessed that Pristina declared numerous Serbian officials as undesirable persons, citing as an example the President of the Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, who wanted to baptize a child in Gračanica, so she was not allowed to enter Kosovo.
"250.000 Serbs, not Albanians, were ethnically cleansed," said Vučić, adding that he himself has apologized several times and that it is necessary to look at things carefully and react in time.
Commenting on the statement of the Albanian Prime Minister Edija Rama that we should accept the reality that there is no more Kosovo and Metohija, Vučić said that the reality is not easy for Serbia, but that he is not sure that it is quite as rosy as Rama thinks.
"I don't know what time will bring and how time will bring, I just hope that we will solve things peacefully, through dialogue and compromises," concluded Vučić.
