"I personally apologize to everyone." to students and to the citizens of our country. Such a statement cannot exist," said Vučić.

"I am the president of a country where I will always protect the life of every person, student. My personal apology once again, for the minister's unforgivably bad statement, regardless of whether it was taken out of context," said Vučić.
What did Bratina say?
Minister of Information Boris Bratina he declared on April 4, on Students' Day, as a guest on Tanjug television, that students had the right to protest, and that "from Tito onward, it made some sense to let those young people go."
"And somewhere we all thought it was good that young people could express themselves, and so on. However, at the moment when young people understand something in a very serious way, when someone is able to sell them an anarchist ideology, you know, they are not aware that the police there have the right to beat and kill them," said the minister.
To the journalist's remark "not to kill them", Bratina continued: "Well, no, but how can I tell you, we testify, looking historically, all kinds of things happened".
He later said that the statement was taken out of context, adding that he condemns all violence and that he supports the right of young people to express their views peacefully and democratically, explaining that he never said, nor would he support, that young people be exposed to violence.
"I want to emphasize that my words were taken out of a wider context and interpreted in a way that does not reflect the essence of what I wanted to convey. I never said, nor would I ever support, that anyone, especially students, should be exposed to violence," Bratina said, among other things, on Instagram.
