The attack by the USA and Israel on Iran succeeded in what is rarely "successful" in any conflict - numerous religious and political leaders of Tehran were killed, while no one counts the civilians anymore. The world oil market collapsed, and the sense of security built up over decades in the rich petro-monarchies of the Gulf was forever erased.
