Where next, relatives: Belgrade against violence

The time has come for the opposition politicians, who on so many occasions, with their narrow-minded disputes, have masterfully succeeded in turning the authorities away from the unwilling citizens and drowning them in any hope of change, to step out of the shadow of these protests and show that they are up to the situation in society, which is on milestones

The survival of society is at stake

"Vučić would like us to enter into negotiations with him, to bid when the elections will be held, but we do not want that. If we went to rallies under the same meteorological conditions, we want to go to the elections under the same conditions. And for that to happen, it is necessary that the requirements are fulfilled, and that a certain amount of time passes in a normal atmosphere, so that we can then compete."

Forum of Belgrade high schools: All schools rejected the invitation to rallies

Serbian Patriarch Porfirije sent an invitation to all school principals in Belgrade to participate with students and parents in the Salvation Day procession. Not a single school responded to that call because, as they say from the Forum of Belgrade High Schools, the church is not separated from the state, and that is how children get involved in politics.

Don't underestimate us

"For most of the high school students, last week's protests were the first in which they participated. They have only now understood what it means to protest, that it is one of the ways of expressing dissatisfaction. Those big protests are fascinating to us because we see so many people in front of the Assembly and a river of people in Knez Miloš. The participants are all cultured and nice, there are no excesses, everything goes smoothly. If someone accidentally catches someone in that crowd, an apology and the answer 'it doesn't matter' immediately follow."

In the new issue: Serbia at the crossroads of civilization

Trauma and anger roll through the streets of the cities as the government disavows all responsibility for the tragic events in Belgrade at the beginning of the month. The demands presented in two protest marches, although they seem like an exit option for the regime, do not meet with such a reception, so the street will decide what will happen to Serbia in the coming years.

Personal attitude

Appeal to free media: A new attitude towards politics in Serbia is needed

Our opposition does not have to fight only against SNS and SPS. She also has to deal with a certain inertia of the Serbian free media, the only ones where she has the opportunity to appear. Namely, what is the free media doing that reduces the chances for us citizens of Serbia, their listeners and readers, to see a change in the system that is destroying us in the foreseeable future?

Abortion Rights in America: A Step Backward

Fifteen minutes after the draft banning abortion was released to the public, disgruntled citizens gathered in front of the Supreme Court in Washington.
