Hard landing by Aleksandar Vučić

The current government (SNS plus SPS and satellites) enjoys the support of up to a third of the total number of adult citizens of Serbia (32,8 percent), while the rest goes to opponents of the government (41,3 percent) and those "undecided" (25,9 percent). It should be noted that this is the first time since the SNS came to power that such an advantage of the opposition has been detected in research at the republican level.

Day of joy: The Expo flag arrived in Belgrade

Prime Minister Miloš Vučević took over the flag of the Expo 2027 international exhibition, the main drain on the state budget. While faculties across Serbia are under blockade and civil discontent is spreading everywhere, the government is again using this project to draw the attention of the public.

The rich fly to the sky

Flying cars were supposed to show off in style during the Paris Olympics, but it turned out to be a fiasco. This does not bother Vučić to announce them for the Expo, even though it is a kind of luxury taxi, not a vehicle for the people.

2027 billion euros will be invested in the "Leap into the Future - Serbia EXPO 17,8" project, Aleksandar Vučić said. However, there is still no explanation of how much it will cost, when it will be implemented and how profitable this whole idea is. It is a political project, economist Mihailo Gajić told Vreme

What can be done with the 17,8 billion euros that will be invested for EXPO and a little more? What kind of investments are we talking about? Where does such an investment lead? And what does that have to do with opening up more space for corruption? The questions keep coming, and the answers are few. What we do know is that this is money with which, according to FEFA faculty professor Goran Radosavljevic, Serbia could be built to look much better than today. Because, as he says, annual investments from public funds at the level of the entire country amount to around seven billion. Economist Milan R. Kovačević points out that a debt that costs more than economic growth is a rush to ruin

The biggest progressive hoax

The interlocutors of "Vremen" say that the announced manifestation is of great importance for the government in Serbia because it is ideal for inflating the GDP through borrowing. When borrowing, the ratio of current debt to GDP is observed. And if that debt is 60 percent of GDP or less, it is possible to get a more favorable credit arrangement. New debt is used to finance projects that once again show an increase in GDP. This again opens up space for new borrowing and thus closes the circle. Until everything breaks

State investment: Why the national stadium matters now

Minister Mali announced the start of the construction of the national stadium, and Minister Momirović is promoting it as part of Expo 2027, which will be more important than the ring road, the high-speed railway and Belgrade on the water. They act as if the Fiscal Council did not warn them that it cannot be done that way. "Together" requests that the Parliament set up a Commission of Inquiry because of this
