Vance said his negotiating team was leaving Pakistan after failing to reach an agreement with Iran, which he said was much worse news for Tehran than it is for the US.
"We are coming back to the US after 21 hours of talks without an agreement. We have made it clear what our red lines are," Vance said, adding that Tehran had not accepted the US demand that Iran suspend the program development of atomic weapons, reports Reuters.
Tehran announced that American "excessive" demands made it impossible to reach an agreement, which is why the talks ended. Iran said before Vance's statement that negotiations would continue and that technical experts would exchange documents.
Vance stated that the talks in Islamabad lasted 21 hours and that during that period he was in constant communication with US President Donald Trump, reports AP.
