United States two weeks ago terrorist attack on "Crocus City Hall" in Moscow, the Russian authorities warned that the concert hall could be a potential target for terrorists, claims the newspaper "Washington Post", referring to US officials.
According to the paper's sources, the US authorities allegedly handed over the information to Russia a day before the US embassy in Moscow issued a warning about a possible terrorist attack in the Russian capital in March.
Officials and experts interviewed by The Washington Post believe that it was unusual for the US to provide Russia, which US authorities consider an adversary, with specific information about a potential attack target. According to them, that step could have jeopardized the disclosure of intelligence sources.
Earlier, the Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia, Sergey Naryshkin, stated that Russia had received certain information from the American side about possible threats of a terrorist attack in "Crocus City Hall", but that the information was too general.
