United Kingdom, Australija i Canada they officially recognized Palestine as a state.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the United Kingdom recognizes the State of Palestine, writes the British public service BBC.
"Today, to revive hope for peace for Palestinians and Israelis, and a two-state solution, the United Kingdom formally recognizes the State of Palestine," Starmer said.
Just before Starmer, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney also announced that "Canada recognizes the state of Palestine."
In a statement posted on his X social media account, Carney said:
"Canada recognizes the State of Palestine and offers our partnership in building the promise of a peaceful future for both the State of Palestine and the State of Israel."
Australia has also just announced its recognition of a Palestinian state, joining Canada as the second G7 member to formally do so, N1 reports.
Both Canada and Australia announced their intention to formally recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in New York earlier this week.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said they followed Canada's decision.
He stated that it was part of a joint effort with Canada and Great Britain and that it would represent "an international effort for a two-state solution."
