Whoever thought that the intention to "bring the Panama Canal back under American control" was just something that Donald Trump had thrown off his feet, he was wrong: he repeated it in his inaugural speech. Of the European officials, only the Prime Minister of Italy, neo-fascist Giorgio Meloni, was invited to the swearing-in ceremony.
President-elect of the United States of America (USA) Donald tramp took the presidential oath, making him the 47th president SAD.
His wife Melania helped him take the oath. According to tradition, Chief Justice John Roberts helped Trump take the oath of office as soon as the clock struck noon local time.
Among other things, Trump swore to respect and defend the US Constitution.
At the beginning of his first address as the 47th president of the USA, Trump said that "America's golden age begins now."
"From today our country will flourish and will be respected." "America will always come first to me," Trump said.

"Our sovereignty will be restored, our security will be restored, the scales of justice will be balanced again." Our security will be restored, justice will function again. Violent manipulation of the Justice Department and our government will no longer exist," Trump said.
"America's Liberation Day"
Trump said that his government will face every crisis with dignity, power and strength and will "restore prosperity for citizens of all races, religions, colors and creeds".
"The 20th of January is the day of liberation. "I hope that the recent elections will be remembered as the biggest and most consequential in the history of our country," Trump said.
While talking about the failed assassination attempt on him, Trump pointed out that he survived "for a reason."
"In the past eight years, my life has been tested more than the life of any other president." "I survived for a reason, to make America great again," Trump said.
He emphasized that no one will deny the "glorious destiny" of the USA and promised that a state of emergency will be declared on the southern border of the USA and that any illegal entry from Mexico will be stopped immediately.
Speaking about the economic plans, Trump promised that the US will become a rich country again because of "liquid gold under our feet".
He pointed out that he will roll back regulations on electric vehicles and that cars will be made again in the US at an intensity that "nobody could have dreamed of."

He also promised that the US would no longer fight against political opponents.
"We will bring law and order to our cities." This week, I will stop the measures that intrude the issue of gender and race into every pore of society. We will fight for a society that does not see the color of the skin, and which will be based on merit. "We will have two genders - male and female," Trump said.
He pointed out that the strength of the American army will be measured not only by the victories it achieves, but also by how many wars it ends and the number of wars it does not take part in.
"Our armed forces will be focused on their single mission, to defeat America's enemies," Trump said.
He said that he wants to be remembered as a "peacemaker and unifier" and emphasized that national unity will be restored to the USA.
"National unity is now returning to America and confidence and pride are growing like never before." In everything we do, my administration will be inspired by a strong pursuit of excellence and continued success. We will not forget our country, we will not forget our Constitution and we will not forget our God," Trump said.
He added that the USA will increase its wealth, expand its territory and that the American flag will fly on new horizons - and on Mars.
On the occasion of his return to the White House, Trump said that the American people had spoken.
"I stand before you as proof that you should never believe that something is impossible to do." In America, doing the impossible is what we do best. From today, the United States of America will be a free, sovereign and independent nation. The future is ours, and our golden age has just begun," Trump concluded at the end of his speech.

Two Bibles for swearing in
Trump used two Bibles during his swearing-in.
One of them was given to him by his mother in 1955 when he finished school at the Presbyterian Church in New York.
The text of that Bible is the Revised Standard Version, published by Thomas Nelson and Sons of New York.
In addition to that Bible, Trump also used Lincoln's, which was first used when the 1861th American president was sworn in in 16.
Former President Barack Obama also used two Bibles during his inauguration in 2013.
US Vice President-elect JD Vance was previously sworn in.
His wife, two children and mother helped him take the oath.
