Prime Minister Croatia Andrej Plenković supported the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky after his clash with US President Donald Trump in the White House, stressing that only "a just peace can last"
"Croatia knows from its own experience that only a just peace can last," Plenković wrote on the X platform.
In the Oval Office, Zelensky urged Trump not to make "compromises with a murderer", alluding to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The Croatian government firmly believes that Ukraine needs such peace - peace that means sovereignty, territorial integrity and a secure Europe," Plenković added.
The long-awaited meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, which was thought to be a step towards peace, ended on Friday with an open quarrel between the two leaders and the canceled signing of an agreement on Ukrainian minerals worth about 500 billion dollars, which the United States is counting on.
