At least 94 people died in the north Nigeria when it exploded tank with the fuel involved in the accident, CNN reported.
The explosion occurred late Tuesday evening local time in Jigawa state.
The tanker driver swerved to avoid a collision with a truck in the town of Majia, he said.
"Around 23:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Majia town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa, the tanker driver lost control near the Kadija University and the tanker exploded," the police spokesman said in a statement, according to local media.
