Founder of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk publicly apologized for attacking the American president Donald Trump.
"I'm sorry for some of my posts about the president last week. It went too far," the billionaire wrote on social network X, without specifying which posts he was referring to.
The row between Musk and Trump erupted over a tax relief bill that economists estimate could increase the US budget deficit by $600 billion, which Trump called "great and beautiful" and Musk called a "disgusting perversion."
During the public clash that broke out on June 5, Musk decided to "drop a real bomb" and said that Trump was involved in the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was suspected of trafficking minors lured to a private island, where they were raped by representatives of the American and world elite, but Musk later deleted the post.
In addition, Musk said that without his support, Trump "would not have won the election" and also supported a proposal to recall the president and replace him with Vice President JD Vance.
Reacting to the billionaire's statements, Trump said Musk was "simply out of his mind."
According to the New York Times, Trump linked Musk's posts to drug use. The businessman denied this, stressing that a few years ago he took prescription ketamine to fight depression.
At the same time, Trump refused to talk to Musk to resolve the conflict.
"I'm not thinking about Elon. He's in trouble. The poor guy is in trouble," Trump said.
