The police did not identify the attacker or the victims, but stated that some of the murdered children were related to the attacker.
The shooting took place in several locations in the city, including two houses on the same block and a third in a different part of the neighborhood. After the shooting, the gunman stole a vehicle and began to flee, which was followed by a police chase. When they reached him, the officers opened fire on the suspect and killed him.
