President of the USA Donald tramp announced on the Truth Social platform that he had extended the ceasefire until "leaders in Iran come up with a unified proposal" for a peace deal. He claims that in the Iranian government there is a "serious schism", and because of this, as well as at the request of the highest Pakistani officials, he made this decision.
Tensions in the Middle East remain high, and two ships in Gulf of Hormuz were attacked after the extension of the truce.
The Strait of Hormuz is crucial
Tehran said the damaged container ship "ignored the warnings of Iran's armed forces", and the British military said another cargo ship had been fired upon.
The navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps seized two vessels and diverted them to the Iranian coast, stating that Iran "considers the violation of order and security in the Strait of Hormuz as a red line."
This comes after US forces seized an Iranian ship and raided a tanker linked to Tehran.

Negotiations in limbo
SAD and Iran on April 8 reached an agreement on a two-week truce, which was not fully respected in the Strait of Hormuz, crucial for the world oil market.
US Vice President JD Vance was expected to lead a delegation to Pakistan, which is mediating the negotiations, but it is currently uncertain whether the second round of negotiations will take place at all.
Trump announced the extension of the ceasefire, but Iran has not yet commented on it.
Since the beginning of the US-Israeli airstrikes, Iran has successfully blocked the Strait of Hormuz. Passage is allowed only to ships from countries they consider friendly.
After the armistice agreement, the Americans began a blockade of Iranian ports in the strait, which Iran saw as a violation of the aforementioned agreement.
Tehran has said it will not continue negotiations while the US blockade is in place, and the US has said it will not end the action until a peace deal is signed.
