Trump accused Tehran of "playing games" with SAD and the rest of the world.
Iran's counter-proposal for terms to end the war includes recognition of sovereignty over the blocked Strait of Hormuz and a demand for compensation for damages, and nuclear program, which is one of the key issues the US has tried to address, is not even mentioned.
Tehran is also demanding the release of frozen Iranian assets and the lifting of sanctions, as well as an end to fighting on all fronts, including in Lebanon, Reuters reported, citing Iranian state television.

Iranian state media reports on the counterproposal have so far made no mention of the country's nuclear program.
"The US has set a very clear red line in its latest proposal," US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz previously said.
"President Trump has made it clear that Iran will never have nuclear weapons and that they cannot hold the world's economies hostage," Waltz told Fox News.
"We will never bow our heads"
Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkiyan said that peace talks with the United States of America (USA) would not mean surrender or withdrawal, but an effort to protect the rights of the Iranian people and defend national interests.
"We will never bow down to the enemy, and if there is talk of dialogue or negotiation, it does not mean surrender or withdrawal, but the goal is to secure the rights of the Iranian people and strongly defend national interests," Pezeshkian wrote on the X network.
His announcement came after Iranian state media reported that Tehran had submitted to Pakistan as a mediator a response to the US proposal to end the conflict. According to the IRNA news agency, any negotiations with the US would, for now, only concern the end of military conflicts, while other issues, including Iran's nuclear program, would be the subject of later negotiations. Part of Iran's response is the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Pakistan has confirmed that it has received Iran's response to the US proposal to end the war and forwarded it to Washington.
