Just two days after Real Madrid, in great style, crowned an exceptional season by winning his fifteenth trophy Champions League, the French footballer Kylian Mbappe is coming to the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent, where he will spend the next five seasons.
The 25-year-old - who became PSG's all-time goalscorer - will join the likes of Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham in the Spanish capital "to form a potential football dynasty", according to CNN.
Mbappe won 17 trophies in seven years at the French club, but so far the famous "early" Champions League trophy has eluded him. Although the financial details of the transfer have not yet been officially announced, football sources say he will earn €15m per season, plus a €150m signing bonus and will retain 80 per cent of the marketing rights to his image and work.
After the news of his arrival was announced, Mbappe's new teammates in Madrid warmly greeted him on social media, and former player and the best scorer of the "royal club" of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo, reacted to Mbappe's announcement about his move to Real: "I am happy to I'll see you light up the Bernabeu," the Portuguese ace wrote on Instagram.
Real Madrid fans are delighted with this move by their club, given Mbappe's talent and potential to lead Los Blancos to many more trophies in the future. PSG, on the other hand, was left without the best player and the most famous "face" of the Parisian club.
The Frenchman is expected to wear the number 9 shirt next season, which was left "vacant" after the departure of Karim Benzema last summer. However, according to a report by Parisien, it will be a temporary solution, because after the departure of midfielder Luka Modrić from the Bernabeu, it is Mbappe who will most likely "inherit" the famous number ten on his back.
