Historic out-of-court settlement: For pollution with "eternal chemicals" $450 million
This is just one in a huge series of proceedings that are being conducted against the producers of the so-called PFAS, chemicals that are all around us today
How many police do the MUP of Serbia count? What do the cases of inspectors Milenkovic and Mitić show, and what does the arrest of Belivuk's gang show? Why didn't the MUP guard student blockades and why did it start? How did every careerist and poltroon in the police get the opportunity to supposedly protect law and order? And in what way are those police officers who actually do it threatened
The capacity of the National Theater in Leskovac is 278 seats. On March 22, Aleksandar Vučić held another in a series of "conversations with the people" there. At the same time, in front of the theater and the police cordon, a many times larger number of Leskov residents whistled at the President of Serbia.
However, Vučić said something that could be remembered. And that is that police officers and prosecutors who will not protect "law and order" will be changed. Although both institutions haven't suffered a major blow in a long time, the text - this time - only applies to the MUP.
The scaly state of the police is no secret. Everything can be found there: corruption, crime, politicization, abuse, party recruitment and promotion... Obedience is valued and rewarded, professionalism and successes in the fight against crime are punished. The best example is the fate of inspectors Slobodan Milenkovic and Dusan Mitić. Instead of being rewarded and promoted, they go through the biggest chicanery in recent police history due to the discovery of a huge marijuana plantation on the Jovanjica estate. During that time, Predrag Koluvija - the first accused in this case - enjoys the parties of "Informer" with the ministers.
Also, Milenković and Mitić were, as Vučić would say, removed from their positions. Is it not perhaps because of their refusal to protect "law and order"?
Otherwise, the trial for "Jovanjica II" cannot humanly begin. And how would you? A group of policemen, members of the BIA and the military service for the protection of Koluvija have been accused, so anything can come up in the courtroom. Perhaps - and on whose orders they protected "law and order".
The affairs, the cases of Koluvija and Dijan Hrkalović, the whole way of removing Nebojša Stefanović, and then appointing Bata Gašić, Vulin and Dačić as his successors as Minister of the Interior, left permanent scars and serious consequences. Concretely: MUP is divided into warring factions that serve the interests of their political patrons and their clients.
The reader surely remembers the arrest of Veljko Belivuk and his team. Although the police knew this gang well, it fell only after a political decision. And that - to avoid misunderstandings - from the very top. But when Vučić also announced an investigation into corruption in the Customs Administration, the wind blew the whole case away like a feather, without the public ever finding out why. And that, I guess, is in the service of protecting "law and order."
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia is clinging to the edge of its function in society. Instead of immediately protecting the student blockades based on their legal imperative, the police twiddling their thumbs. What should she do when the head of state personally told her that driving a car into peaceful demonstrators is not even a traffic violation.
And then a twist. After the trampling of the girls shocked and disturbed the country to the core, Vučić changed his mind and ordered the police to take to the streets. What was he waiting for? The excuse that students did not report their gatherings does not hold water. They don't do that now either, so the police still protect them. The answer is therefore - the MUP does not care about young people, but about Vučić's rating.
Nevertheless, the majority of police officers - especially those in uniform that citizens meet every day - perform their duties honestly and honorably. They are not moral stones, but simply share the fate of their relatives, friends and neighbors. When they are ordered, they will guard "cacias" and make cordons. There is no particular enthusiasm, but that's the job.
In this situation, generally speaking, the police did not resort to excessive violence. Perhaps this is a consequence of the political assessment that it would turn out to be counterproductive, and it is also possible that the elders on the streets did not want to give reason to their superiors to order caning. Again, we should not reject the assumption that certain factions in the MUP simply want to disqualify their rivals as someone who refuses to protect "law and order" through their passivity.
But the actual state of law and order is no longer important, the head of state personally announced. To make it clear to the people - every faction in the MUP (Vulinov, Gasičev, Stefanović, Dačić and various others) can now use truncheons, declare pepper sprays and knee pads to be terrorist tools, detain at will, deny protection and, in general, harass peaceful demonstrators...
Why not, they protect "law and order", and whoever says otherwise is in the service of the "colored revolution" and must be changed. It is also an opportunity for every poltroon and careerist to use the badge in order to meet the wishes of the President of Serbia. What a professional, only party affirmation is important.
Aleksandar Vučić's Leskovac speech is really significant in this sense. He added a new burden to the back of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, overloaded with internal divisions, subterfuges and scandals. No one has an answer as to how much more the police backbone can withstand.
King Midas turned everything he touched into gold. In Serbia, after Vučić's touch, only dust, ashes and scandal remain. Why should the police be an exception?

Putin nevertheless received Vučić. If the latter is to be believed, Serbia will have as much oil and gas as our hearts desire. And a cheap one. I am afraid, however, of the folk saying "He who does not pay on the bridge, pays on the bridge". And if the situation could be even worse, this behavior of Vučić could "burn" all bridges and bridges towards the EU. And then there is neither the opening of clusters, nor the first 110 million non-returnable euros from the Growth Plan, nor European investments
Young people in Serbia, aware of their capabilities, knowledge and ingenuity in leading the fight for justice, shook the foundations of the system that anesthetized its citizens (their parents), narrowed the spaces for them to talk, divided them into "citizens" and students in the blockade and directly confronted them. But how did they manage to shake the foundations of the system? Precisely thanks to the attitude that their every action exudes: Is there anything we can't do?
Seseljization and pinkoization threaten to destroy the culture, identity and future of the entire nation. The defense of the university is not enough, but it is a necessary condition for the preservation of all those values
