A nurse from GAK "Narodni Front" from Belgrade did something that has never been seen before in Serbia: she filmed a live birth, which at one point was watched by more than 200 users. TikTok applications.
In the video that was broadcast on TikTok, she carefully framed the moment that horrified the public in Serbia from the corner of the hall almost professionally, shocking, as it turned out the day after, the superiors in the "People's Front" as well.
Because of this bizarre procedure, they immediately suspended her and initiated disciplinary proceedings against her.
"At the same time, we would like to thank everyone who pointed out this kind of incident to us in a timely manner, so that we could promptly react and take all the necessary measures so that something like this never happens again," stated the administration of GAK "Narodni Front".
The announcement notes that the measure against the misuse of mobile phones in the maternity ward and the operating theater is still in effect.
It's not her first time.
The nurse in question, who goes by the name "Jellen" on social media, has reportedly been sharing birth videos on TikTok for a long time, from photos from the delivery table, to preparing instruments and drugs for spinal anesthesia, to pulling the baby out of the womb during a caesarean section. until placing the baby in the mother's arms.
She boasts on TikTok that she spent 15 years at the Oncology Institute before GAK.
Before giving birth last night, she wrote to her followers to prepare questions that interest them.
Many unanswered questions
The public was shocked again. For the umpteenth time. Citizens again have a sea of questions concerning the general decline of Serbian society.
"Is it possible that as a society we no longer have a sense of what is right and what is wrong. Is it possible that someone thinks that something as intimate as childbirth should be live streamed. The TikTok account, as well as all the birth doctors who knew it was being broadcast live, deserve to bear criminal, and certainly civil, liability. The patient's privacy, more importantly her honor, was violated", says one reader for N1.
There are many more questions that Serbian society will probably never get an answer to: "What motivated the nurse to film a woman giving birth?"; "Why did none of the colleagues in the hall who, at least some, certainly saw what he was doing, react to this bizarre act?"; "How is it possible that she used a mobile phone in the middle of childbirth, next to the doctor, that is, her superior?"; "Did she have a maternity leave?"; "Why didn't that nurse understand where the limits of decency are, what can and what simply must not be done?".
On the other hand, filming a live birth somehow fits into the currently imposed profile of society that exists on reality shows, visits of criminals to elementary schools, usurpation of the Serbian Parliament by some obscure presenters and uploading of videos of verbal and physical abuse of other people for the sake of likes. The ladder is rising higher and higher.
In the end, it seems that it should be emphasized that bringing mobile phones into the operating room, therefore also into the delivery room, is prohibited.
