In the announcement Metropolitan it is stated that "it is a great damage to church and national unity, from the position of the president of Serbia, to wave very vague criticisms against the Church, mentioning, in the same breath and almost in the same sentence, that 'in the Church we had ideas that are vicious and dangerous' and adding to that that 'some' tried to 'create the Orthodox Church in Montenegro'".
Vučić's statement that the riots in Montenegro started in 2020 "when they wanted the Orthodox Church in Montenegro, just to erase the Serbian one" is also criticized.

The Metropolis says that they do not have a positive experience with political guidance and interpretations of church activities, and add that it is not a job that belongs to politicians. And they add that it was the believers together with the clergy in Montenegro who defended the Church from the attacks of the then Montenegrin political leadership.
"It must be said that it is difficult to recognize them in these latest statements by Vučić, and that the faithful people and the clergy are, to say the least, confused by such retroactive interpretations of the reasons for starting liti in 2020. Those "some" cannot, even in the most clumsy verbal allusions, have anything to do with the top of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro, as some Belgrade tabloids once attributed to the blessedly rested Metropolitan Amfilohi, and why are they "We hope that these were not the intentions of President Vučić. However, we are reacting because Mr. Vučić's statements are clearly full of ambiguity," the statement said.
In the end, it is added that nothing was written to make political work more difficult for the President of Serbia, and even less so that the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral would justify himself to him.
