"The people want changes, but not the kind imposed on them by the blockaders", Vučić has stated several times. He also said that SNS will change. In what direction would that reform go?
Thugs and progressive paramilitaries can tilt the sombrero. As things stand, they can only be the winners of the announced reform. Because ever since the formation of Ćaciland, the demand for them is greater than the supply. How much, can be seen during all local elections, but also gatherings of students and citizens. There has long been no difference between the beaters on one side and the police and BIA on the other side.
Is this the change that the people want so much? Vučić certainly thinks so. Although the progressives could never do without violence, it must now be clear to everyone that the massing and strengthening of the Batina structures is an inseparable part of Plan 35 for the future of Serbia.
Ministers - such as God gave them - are also safe. As before, he will not create any policy, but he will have to engage much more in official campaigns. If Vučić is present, he will kick like a school of catfish. If not, only the sky will be the limit as they promise anything they can think of. The description of that ministerial job also includes public bragging about poorly paved roads, secret financing of local kabadahs from the state budget, pre-election distribution of social alms and, in general, threshing of empty straw. So how can the people not want this kind of change?
Among the particularly big winners of the announced progressive reformation are their poisoners of public opinion. If Vučić and his team tried to show some kind of deviation from the radical ugly past at the beginning of the government, now - in the downward trajectory of the regime - they are arming unprecedented hate speech. Every political opponent, dissident from any field and professional journalist (including recently on TV "Informer" and the three of us from Vremena's podcast "This Situation") has become an Ustasha, a pedophile, a traitor, a hater of everything Serbian, a criminal, garbage, a scumbag, an ignoramus, an idiot...
With this shaking, the people eager for change will get what they have always demanded. And that is turning an already toxic public into a radioactive swamp where nothing but progressive cannibals thrive, which - they hope - will disgust everyone and for all time even the most innocent intention to participate in political and social life.
Of course, the biggest winner in changing the SNS is Vučić himself. His cult of personality and omnipotence is gradually catching up with that of the North Korean Kim family. But that is no longer enough for the people. Hardworking and diligent Vučić - as he described himself - that's why he doesn't leave the television screens.
PENAL COLONY
If these are the winners of the announced progressive changes, who are the losers?
First of all, technocrats who can be found here and there in certain institutions. Occasionally, they still knew how to point out that this or that is not according to the law or acts adopted by the government itself. It won't happen anymore because the people are asking for changes - instead of obedient but also professional people, party fighters are coming, ready for any nastiness and paganism. With this, Vučić promotes the ultra-loyalists. They will play it all or nothing knowing full well that they cannot survive a change of government.
So who will lead state affairs? This rhetorical question is followed by the same counter-question - what job? Just as in every mafia family there are bookkeepers and earners whose activities run beyond any law, so it is with this progressive family. Surely the people will do so. That's why they shout: "Expertise is nothing, and loyalty is everything!"
The SPS and other coalition partners fall into the second group of losers from the announced changes in the SNS. The progressives have absorbed them so much that they hardly recognize themselves on the public stage. If previously they managed to get a handful of votes from election to election on the basis of the most ordinary clientelism, that will no longer be possible in the homogenized SNS. Progressives in reform do not tolerate anyone, no matter how much they are ready to swallow any humiliation, like Ivica Dačić.
Simply put, there are few functions left to hand out to political dwarfs. Maybe the people are looking for that too, although it doesn't matter who entered the republican, provincial or local assembly on the progressive list. Until now, each of those parties was rewarded with sinecures if they achieved some success in the elections or influence in certain areas, because it was considered that it is better to run from the tent to the backcountry than from the backcountry to the tent. From now on, they will be punished for every success.
They will be joined by that layer of citizens who believed in the long march through the institutions. That is to say that they thought they could fix the progressives from the inside, tidy them up, Europeanize them, democratize them... None of that happened, and it won't happen in the future either. None of those "neutrals" survived in the SNS unless they were radicalized. Institutions are pure ballast for reformed progressives, and along with them all those who looked to "stay away from politics". From now on you are either in the party or against it. There is no third party for SNS. This is because the people want it that way.
SERBIA'S NIGHTMARE
Vučić's Plan 35 is a clear sign that the progressives intend to stay in power for at least another ten years. By doing so, they falconize their own electorate and intimidate the undecided.
So, ten more years of listening to Vučić's rants, insults and self-praise on all televisions; another ten years of systemic corruption, organized crime, injustice and impunity of regime sheriffs, sheriffs and sheriffs; ten more years of feudal lords harassing and abusing cities across Serbia; another ten years of Bata Gašić, Lončar, Jovanov, Ana Brnabić, Vučević, Maja Gojković, Selaković...
Every hour, day and month that passes, Serbia is further away from normalcy, reliable and efficient public services, civil rights and freedoms, professional and independent information, the rule of law, European and civilizational achievements, democracy and much more that has long been taken for granted in every orderly country.
The Serbian Progressive Party can only change for the better. Everything listed in the previous paragraphs threatens to become blacker, more hopeless, more terrible and more destructive. Do the people really want that? And how long can he put up with them?
