Six workers were injured at the "Milan Blagojević Namenska" factory in Lucani when a fire broke out in the unit for the production of single-base powders, during the kneading phase.
According to the factory, none of the workers are in danger.
"The camera footage clearly shows that in this case there was no violation of safety and security at work, neither by the company, nor by the employees," says Milka Božić, PR of the "Milan Blagojević Namenska" factory
Information appeared in the media that there was an explosion, and Božić points out that this is not true.
"An explosion is something that is much more destructive and would have far greater consequences than a fire." It's a fire, that is, a technological fire, about which the people who need to assess it will give their professional opinion later," Božić notes.
"Each plant in our company has the most modern equipment, i.e. fire protection, fire systems, so that they activate and extinguish the fire at the same moment. Video surveillance, fire protection, safety and security regulations were complied with, so it was really a classic technological fire which, unfortunately, is often present in this type of production," said Božićeva.
Two intensive care workers
Six workers, who were injured in the fire at the factory in Lucana, were treated at the General Hospital in Čačak.
According to the hospital, the injured are not life-threatening.
Due to the severity and location of the injuries, two patients were kept in the intensive care unit, as they have burns on their faces and hands.
Four patients are in the surgery department with minor physical injuries, i.e. burns on the face and limbs, spokeswoman for the General Hospital, Dr. Marija Stranjanac, told RTS.
The fire broke out around 9 hours and 20 minutes at the plant for the production of single-base powders, in the kneading phase. The fire started at the very end of the process when emptying the kneader.
Six workers were injured, none of whom are life-threatening.
After receiving medical help at the Lucani Health Center, they were transferred to the Čačak Hospital.
