Dear reader,
regimes and presidents, prime ministers and ministers - they all come and go, and "time" remains and survives. It has been like this for the last thirty-five years, and it will be like this in the future. Are you wondering why?
In short, the answer is yes "time" bigger than each of us individually, and yet - we all give it a unique personal stamp.
We have always been independent, never neutral. When it comes to the latter, it is about our open advocacy for the public interest and calling a spade a spade.
During our thirty-five years of work, the methods have not remained the same, but the principles have. We are not infallible. However, we never lost our moral compass.
We were and remain the voice of all the persecuted, oppressed, disenfranchised, insulted and humiliated. We are not able to see the differences between different nationalities, religions and skin colors, and we will not in the future.
Without "Time" it is not possible to write history in the last thirty-five years. We are trying to keep it that way in the times to come. We spoke even when others were silent, worked in accordance with the laws of the profession, the journalistic code and our own moral imperative, immune to all kinds of pressure and indecent offers from positions of power. We have never been, nor will we ever be able to be blinded by power and wealth.
Creating "Time" was never easy. In all these years it could have been just a little more or less difficult. We all pay that huge price within "Vremen". However, we do not give up, we push forward, truly believing in the principles that make us the way we are - independent on the side of the public interest.
Of course, none of this would exist without you on the basis of shared values. And these are, among other things, free, truthful and professional reporting. Without it, there is no democracy, justice and honesty.
