The festival is unnecessarily politicized, Marko Jovicic told "Vreme". the producer of the Film Screenplay festival in Vrnjačka Banj, on Monday (August 4), commenting on the film public's evaluations of the selection of films.
Namely, nine films were selected for the Main Program (the festival selector is Ivana Vujić, professor of theater direction at FDU), six of which are signed by Željko Mitrović's production company "Apollon Media". This choice was interpreted by the public as proof that SNS creates its own festival and culture.
Jovicic refuted these assessments.
The festival accepted all the titles that applied, he said, because otherwise they wouldn't be able to hold it. He also said that between the two festivals, fewer films were made than before, and that of those that were completed, "only three films did not send us applications." He stated that they were Mother Mara, Megdan i Monza 2.
FCS data
According to data from the website of the Film Center of Serbia, there are still films that were completed between the two festivals, but did not submit an application for participation in this year's Vrnjačka Banja.
Those are:
3 days

, Cat's cry, Among the gods, the Sun never again – which were shown last year, and How is it so green here?, Lines of desire, Our Father, Restitution, or Dream and Java of the Old Guard, Sorella di clausura, and Vetre talk to me.
We didn't check why they didn't register for the Screenplay Festival, believing that they had some good and justified reason.
None of the mentioned films were produced by Željko Mitrović. In fact, not a single title was from "Apollon Media" on the FCS website.
