National Library of Serbia and acting the director of the National Library of Serbia, Jasmina Ninkov, strongly denies the information that was presented to the public that Jasmina Ninkov is the head of both the National Library of Serbia and the City of Belgrade Library.
This is not true. Jasmina Ninkov is not the head of the Belgrade City Library, but is acting as manager of the Belgrade National Library. Furthermore, the information that there was no talk of dismissing Jasmina Ninkov from the post of director of the Belgrade City Library and that she was not dismissed from that position is untrue. The true information is that Jasmina Ninkov was dismissed by the Minister of Culture Nikola Selakoviฤ on August 7.8. In 2025, she was relieved of her duties as director of that institution. By the decision on the appointment of the acting director of the National Library of Serbia, which was adopted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia on 17.7. In 2025, Jasmina Ninkov was appointed acting director of the National Library of Serbia.
We also deny the information that there was any malfunction on the server in the National Library of Serbia. Neither any server of the National Library of Serbia is down, nor is the work of our institution threatened in any way. The correct information is that from November 4, 2025, the National Library of Serbia had problems due to a malfunction with two of the three devices through which it receives the Internet, which resulted in part of the users and part of the employees not having access to the Internet. Therefore, the information that the information system of the National Library of Serbia, i.e. the central server that processes and stores key library data, was down is absolutely incorrect.
In order to maintain and protect the reputation and reputation of the National Library of Serbia, as the oldest cultural institution in the Republic of Serbia, we deny the above-mentioned falsehoods in order to ensure that the public is truthfully and fully informed.
