At the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival (from August 14 to 21), cinematography from Serbia is present with 23 films. In the conditions that the state has imposed on its cinematography, it can be said that it is a great success.
Competitive program
In the main competition program on August 18, Maja Miloš' new feature film "Crack in the Ice" will be screened. It will be its world premiere.

The film "Mountain", directed by Biljana Tutorov and Petar Glomazić, the winner of this year's Sundance Festival, will be shown at the opening of the competitive documentary film program on August 15. "Mountain" will be one of 13 films that will compete for the Heart of Sarajevo award for the best feature-length documentary film.

The feature-length documentary film "Forbidden Aunt" is the directorial debut of Hollywood actress Bojana Novaković. Intimate, fearless and deeply personal, this documentary explores how inherited violence, trauma and addiction shaped the lives of four generations of Balkan women in her family.
The short documentary film "Dear orchid" by Hana Selena Sokolović, a co-production of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, and the Netherlands, is also in the competition selection.
Co-production
In the Serbian co-production, "Everything that is wrong with you" directed by Urša Menart (Slovenia, Germany, Serbia) will be shown, competing in the main program for the Heart of Sarajevo award for feature film.
Among these achievements are "Small Things" by Zvonimir Jurić (Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia), "Coke" by Igor Jelinović (Croatia, Serbia), which brought our actress Aleksandra Janković the Golden Arena for the best supporting role at this year's Pula.
There is also the world premiere of the feature film "Virus of Pathological Kindness" directed by Predrag Ličina, a Serbian-Croatian-Slovenian-Bosnian-Herzegovinian co-production. That film aroused great interest from the audience, so the organizers decided to add another screening. Thus, apart from the main screening on August 19, the satirical SF comedy will also have a rerun on August 21.
Student films
The short feature film "Over the Threshold" directed by Tara Gajović competes in the program of student films, as well as the film "Neighbor" directed by Dan Grabnar, which deals with student protests and police violence in Serbia. This selection also includes the film "Sisters" by Sara Ećimović.
In the competition program Narrative short film "No one said anything" by Tamara Todorović will be shown.
"In Focus" program
In the program "In focus" is a review of films that have already achieved success at prestigious film festivals around the world. Among the seven films selected for the occasion is a French-German-Serbian-Cambodian co-production - the documentary-feature film "Promised Spaces" by author Ivan Marković.
Open Air Program
The Serbian-Bulgarian-Italian-Croatian-Luxembourgish co-production "3 Weeks Later" directed by Miroslav Miša Terzić is in the program called Open Air because it takes place on an open stage.
The same program will also show the film "Our Father" by screenwriter and director Goran Stanković, which after its world premiere in Toronto won the award for best director in Cottbus, the Special Jury Award at the Tertio Millennio in Rome, and the Transilvania International Film Festival in Cluj, while the actor Vučić Perović won the Golden Arena for the best male role at the recently concluded Pula.
There is also the Slovenian-Serbian film "Hidden People" directed by Miha Hocevar, and the Danish film "Dom" directed by Marijana Janković, a valued and sought-after Danish actress of local origin, starring Tara Čubrilo, Nada Šargin, Dejan Čukić, Olga Odanović...
Bela Tar
The new program of the Sarajevo Film Festival "Bela in Sarajevo", founded in honor of the recently deceased Hungarian filmmaker Bela Tara, includes two Serbian films. These are "Krila i tlo", a feature-length documentary film by Stefan Malešević, a co-production between Serbia and North Macedonia, and the feature-length film "Who the Fuck Are You", a Serbian-Belgian film by Marina Radmilac.
Human Rights Program
The "Human Rights" program will be opened by a Serbian co-production, the documentary film "All We Have Is Us" directed by Alin Juarez and Juan Francisco Donoso, about environmental activists in Serbia and Chile, in which Bojana Novaković, the director of "Forbidden Aunts", appears as an activist.
Serbian co-productions will also be shown in the Vienna Triangle program - the short film "Hysterical Laughter Attack" by our directors Dušan Zorić and Matija Gluščević, which had its world premiere in Locarno. In that selection, Milica Vujasin's "Doctor" will also be in front of the audience.
Out of competition, the Serbian-Croatian co-production documentary "Yugo Goes to America" by Filip Grujić and Aleksa Borković will be shown.
