One hundred years ago today, Mira Trailović was born, without whom there would be no Bitef, Atelier 212, Bitef theater and who knows how many other things on the local theater and cultural scene.
The centenary of the birth of someone as great and important as Mira Trailović should be an important date for this society.
And yet, Belgrade, where she worked and brought it closer to the world, did not even erect a monument to her.
Truth be told, it's not really that he didn't, he wanted to, five years ago, during the time of Zoran Radojičić and Goran Vesić, the City Assembly made a decision to erect a monument to Mira Trailović and Jovan Ćirilov, but it never got there.
The arrangement of the plateau in front of the Bitef Theater, which was named after her, was not even mentioned.
You enter the Mira Trailović Plateau past open containers, thrown garbage, and improvised stalls of a spontaneously created flea market, and you walk on life-threatening stones that have been taken out.
By the way, because of Bitef, the international festival she founded, the people of Belgrade called her - Mayor, and foreigners said that during the time of the Iron Curtain, she connected East and West because Belgrade, because of Bitef, was the only place where artists from Russia could good luck and talks with colleagues from other parts of the world.
On the occasion of the centenary since the birth of Mira Trailović, the multimedia installation "Theatre - the beauty of the creation of a new peace, the first hundred years" was opened today at noon in the Bitef Theater. The authors of the installation are Jelena Stojanović, Vesna Bogunović and Jelena Bogavac.
This program is an initiative and implementation of the Bitef Theater. Belgrade had none.
