The 73rd Film Festival ended last night (July 15) with the awards ceremony at the Istrian National Theater in Pula. 18 films competed for 28 Golden Arenas.
Six Golden Arenas were awarded to films and artists from Serbia. And yet, only a few local media outlets reported on this success, and there are no regime media among them.
The Golden Arena for the best film of the 73rd Pula Festival in the Croatian minority co-production program was won by the film "Winds, talk with me" by our director Stefan Đorđević, and this film also won the Golden Arena for the best photography, which was awarded to Marko Brdar.

Drama also triumphed at this year's Pula "Three weeks later" - director Miroslav Terzić was awarded the Golden Arena for best director, Vladimir Arsenijević, Bojan Vuletić and Terzić jointly won the Golden Arena for the best screenplay, and Marko Ferković for the best editing.
Vučić Perović won the Golden Arena for the best leading male role for his character in the film "Our Father" by director and screenwriter Goran Stanković, while Aleksandra Janković won the Golden Arena for the best supporting female role in the movie "Coke".
Applause to the students
The laureates were not the only ones applauded by Pula last night.
Actor Dado Ćosić, winner of the Golden Arena for the best male role in the film "Beautiful evening, beautiful day", thanked for the award and dedicated his speech to the filmmakers in Serbia and the situation in our cinematography, and his words caused a storm of enthusiasm from the support of the packed audience.
Referring to the fact that the Film Center of Serbia has not had a competition for financing films for almost two years, and that the regime has stopped cinematography, Ćosić called for solidarity:
"Without Serbian films, our program of Minority co-productions at this festival will be significantly poorer, and our films will lose very important co-producers. Serbian film is important, not only for us, but also for the whole of Europe, and we must not allow this situation with the suspension of the competition to continue. Let's support our colleagues, make some public action for them", pointed out Ćosić.
His call for solidarity was followed up by Dragana Jovović, the producer of our winning film "Winds, talk to me".
"The situation in Serbian film will change when the students win," said Jovović, and the applause and chants addressed to our students were the biggest ovations heard during last night's ceremony.
Great Golden Arena
The Great Golden Arena for the best film was awarded to the family drama "Coke", the debut work of director Igor Jelinović, who also won the Golden Arena for the best screenplay.
"Coke" brought the actress Snježana Sinovčić Šiškov the Golden Arena for the best leading female role, and as already mentioned, our Aleksandra Janković won the Golden Arena for the best supporting female role.
The Golden Arena for the best director was awarded to Srđan Kovačević for the film "What should be done", as well as for the best editing, which went to Klara Šovagović and Damir Čučić.
The hit comedy "Wedding" by Igor Šeregi, the most watched Croatian movie in cinemas, which opened the 73rd Pula, won four Golden Arenas.
The Golden Arena was won by the director Igor Šeregi for the best casting, Ivan Kelava and Marko Jocić for the best production, Roko Sikavica for the best supporting male role, and a special Golden Arena for outstanding contribution to the acting ensemble was awarded to Linda Begonja for the role of Maria in this film.
The Pula festival was closed with the screening of the film "How the war began on my island" by Vinko Brešan, which triumphed at this festival 30 years ago.
