Although shorter by two days than usual, this year's Festival of European Film in Palić will have 140 films, and will begin with the awarding of the "Lifka" award to Svetozar Cvetković and Sergej Loznica
This year, the 32nd edition of the Palić European Film Festival will open on the Palić Summer Stage on July 19 at 21 p.m.
At the opening, the "Aleksandar Lifka" award for outstanding contribution to European cinematography will be presented to Ukrainian director Sergej Loznitsa, as well as the Underground Spirit award for outstanding work in the field of independent film to Austrian director Peter Cherkasky.
"Lifka" in the category of domestic creators will be awarded to Svetozar Cvetković tomorrow, Sunday, at the Summer Stage in Palić, Cvetković has acted in more than a hundred films and television productions, collaborating with the most important authors of the former Yugoslavia and the region.
Tonight, the festival will be opened with the world premiere of the film "Pearl of Mist" by the recently deceased director Milorad Milinković, as part of the main competitive program out of competition.
"Sedef Magla" tells the story of the event in 1882, when Jelena Ilka Marković tried to kill King Milan Obrenović in the Cathedral Church. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison and soon after was found dead in her prison cell - the official version is that she hanged herself with a towel on her bed. The clues indicate that suicide was not possible. Seven years later, on the same day, two bodies were found - on the banks of the Sava, the Alas found the body of a murdered girl, and the body of Prince Miloš's great-grandson in the Topčider forest. It is revealed that both of these murders are connected to the assassination in the Cathedral. After a long time, that case was reopened. A failed lawyer and the head of the Belgrade police investigate her death, each for their own reasons, but in the case of Mrs. Marković, the truth does not bring any good.
The script is jointly written by Milorad Milinković and Dragoljub Stojković, and the main roles are played by Miloš Timotijević, Petar Strugar, Jana Ivanović, Nebojša Dugalić, Voja Brajović, Luka Grbić, Miona Marković, Jelena Ilić and Mariana Aranđelović.
Until July 23, 140 films will be shown in 16 selections, so shortening the festival by two days will probably not be noticed.

There is, literally, no difference between the one who claims it is day in the middle of the night, or the one who claims to be a giraffe, from the claims we read on billboards: that Vučić is working to unify Serbs and that Serbia is doing better and better day by day.
The pre-election arrests due to the alleged "overthrow of the state" testify to the regime's panic. The bad news for them is - they can't arrest the whole people who decided to defend themselves from progressive beatings and election theft
The ring that tightens around Ćaciland Student list is getting narrower. Because there are more and more spoiled people who see the false prophet for what he is: a street obscener who is fighting Serbia
