"Pray for humanity" is written on a huge cucumber that he placed in front of the directorate on May 15 EXPO in Belgrade in Kralja Milan Street, architect and street art artist Andrej Josifovski alias The Pianist.
It is his new work that marks the countdown to the beginning of EXPO, the exhibition that will begin in Belgrade in a year.
He explains to "Vreme" that "it is an inflatable cucumber, it is on a cart with a generator and a fan. Until the beginning of EKXPO, I will occasionally bring it where it needs to be, the directorate where I placed it myself today is just one of the convenient addresses."
Why cucumber? "Because this vegetable can be associated with all kinds of things, including our banana country."
The inscription on the cucumber "Pray for humanity" refers to the EXPO slogan "Play for humanity".
"A Game for Humanity, as written on their slogan, is not what they offer. And so, in their case, we are left with only a Prayer for Humanity, as written on the cucumber."
The pianist says that during the performance, no one from the security of the EXPO premises addressed him.
"They looked at me through the window and took photos. I saw that they posted those photos on the EXPO networks and wrote that they accept the game." To me, from their side, it's okay for now," says Pianista.
