National Theatre said clearly and loudly - no! He won't allow it Dragoslav Bokan be the president of their Board of Directors.
They guess why the Government of Serbia just now, without any reason, dissolved the Management Board.
Because the current director of the National Theater, Svetislav Bule Goncić, is retiring on July 5, the new director is chosen by the Board of Directors according to Article 44 of the Law on Culture, so the Government wanted to choose those people who will propose Dragoslav Bokan. They suspect that the Government of Serbia would like Bokan to head the National Theatre.
The Ministry withdrew this move
That's why they decided not to propose their member for the Management Board, as they are required to do under the mentioned Law. There is no one among them who would like to cooperate with Dragoslav Bokan, they said. Let the new Management Board be truncated, let only four members remain in it, who were appointed by the Government of Serbia at the same time it appointed Bokan as president.

The Government of Serbia knew that the collective of the National Theater would not embrace Bokan. And yet she named him. But above all, the Ministry of Culture, which proposed it to the Government, knew that. And yet it proposed it. Should we ask why?

The Ministry of Culture is responsible for the crisis in the National Theater. The National Theater says that they know for sure that the removal of the old and the appointment of a new Board of Directors was done by the Ministry behind their backs. It made this move. And caused a conflict. Because he needs it for political points. He is not interested in the functioning of the cultural institution for which he is responsible.
This is not a rebellion, but a call to responsibility
The employees of the National Theater say that they will use all legal means to prevent Dragoslav Bokan from entering their building. And that their resistance will not be a rebellion, but a call to this state to be accountable.

"They are not the National Theater, I am the president of the Board of Directors of that real, true National Theater and not some famous collective," said Dragoslav Bokan on June 20 of this year, commenting on the resistance of the employees.
However, those who do not want it, are not enemies of the people, nor are they terrorists. They are artists who fight for truth and justice, and who will not allow Bokan to come to them, who would cut off the hands of those who are not on his side, he said this back in 1992 when he was in the paramilitary "White Eagles".
The true National Theater, the one Bokan refers to, will not have it. If he is not aware of it, which is impossible, he will feel it as soon as he enters the building.
